Virtual Chief Information Officer (vCIO)

Pay Range: $75,000 - $85,000/ annual salary
Status: Full-time (Exempt)
Join a fast-growing Minnesota-based Managed IT Services Provider (MSP) as our next Virtual Chief Information Officer (vCIO). This role offers the opportunity to act as a strategic partner to clients, helping them leverage technology to drive business growth, strengthen security, and align IT initiatives with long-term goals.
You’ll work with business leaders across industries, guiding them through IT planning, budget strategy, compliance, and roadmap execution — all while collaborating with a passionate internal team dedicated to delivering world-class IT outcomes.

What You’ll Do:
Serve as a trusted technology advisor to clients, aligning IT with business goals.
Lead strategic IT planning sessions, provide KPI reports, and present alignment scorecards.
Guide IT budgeting, risk management, and compliance efforts.
Collaborate with Technology Success team to propose high-impact technology projects.
Ensure exceptional client satisfaction and long-term retention through proactive communication and strategic foresight.
Develop and execute strategic IT roadmaps within your first 90 days.
Stay informed on emerging technologies to offer competitive client solutions.
What You Bring:
A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
2+ years of experience in IT consulting, account management, or technical client-facing roles—preferably within an MSP or service-oriented IT environment.
A strong desire to step into a leadership role that blends technology with business strategy.
Solid understanding of IT systems, trends, and risk management concepts.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to business stakeholders.
A proactive, coachable, and growth-oriented mindset.
Experience contributing to IT roadmaps, project planning, or business reviews is a plus.
Relevant certifications a plus (e.g., CISSP, CISM, PMP, ITIL) but not required.
