Broadstep Behavioral Health is hiring a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist or Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor for our Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) that serves the greater Gastonia, NC area. The ACT program is a direct and indirect periodic service where the staff provides direct intervention and arranges, coordinates, and monitors services on behalf of the recipient. This service is provided in any location. Services are primarily provided in a range of community settings such as recipient’s home, school, homeless shelters, libraries, etc.

Job Type: This is a full-time position working in the community with frequent travel to meet with clients in the area.
Schedule: M-F, 8am-5pm (with some flexibility)
Job Location: This role is based out of our Gastonia, NC office and requires frequent travel to meet with clients in Gaston, Lincoln, and Cleveland counties.
Job Duties:
- As a member of our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive substance abuse assessments that describe the relationship between the member's mental health and substance use. You will serve as a consultant and educator to fellow ACT team members regarding integrated dual disorder treatment.
- Assist in the development of natural support networks
- Individual and group supportive counseling
- Monitor symptoms and medications and link the individual to the appropriate services, agencies and supports in the community
- Write, implement, evaluate, and revise client's person-centered plan and overall treatment goals
- Participate in on-call crisis intervention rotation
- Review treatment progress and provide continuous consultation with other Team staff
- Ensure immediate and appropriate interventions are provided in response to changes in mental status which may put an individual at risk.
- Follow service definition guidelines for services being provided
- Must be a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS or LCAS-A), or a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) or a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC). PLEASE NOTE: We cannot consider CADC-I or CADC-R candidates.
- Must meet the requirements of a Qualified Professional in NC as outlined below:
- Bachelor's degree (in Human Services field) and 2+ years full-time experience with population served; or
- Bachelor's degree (Not Human Services field) & 4+ years full-time experience with population served; or
- Master's Degree or Higher and 1+ years full-time experience with population served
