Job Summary
The Support Specialist plays a crucial role in providing assistance and guidance to individuals facing various challenges related to mental health, addiction, and behavioral issues. This position requires a compassionate and skilled individual who can effectively engage with clients, offering support through counseling, crisis intervention, and mentoring. The Support Specialist will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the well-being of clients and facilitate access to necessary resources.
Duties
- Provide mental health counseling and support to clients experiencing emotional or behavioral difficulties.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage positive change and personal growth.
- Conduct crisis intervention and management strategies to address immediate client needs.
- Collaborate with social workers and other professionals to develop comprehensive care plans.
- Offer guidance in addiction counseling, helping clients navigate recovery pathways.
- Engage in mentoring relationships with clients, fostering resilience and coping skills.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions, progress notes, and treatment plans.
- Participate in team meetings and case reviews to discuss client progress and strategies for improvement.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective client interaction.
- Ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Certified through the State of Kentucky as a Peer Support.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $10.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 per week
