Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with individuals, particularly those with autism, to implement behavioral therapy strategies and support their development. This role requires a commitment to providing high-quality care while adhering to best practices in applied behavior analysis (ABA).
Duties
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
- Collect and record data on client progress, ensuring accuracy and compliance with medical documentation standards.
- Support clients in developing social, communication, and daily living skills.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations when handling medical records and sensitive information.
- Collaborate with families and other professionals involved in the client's care to ensure a cohesive approach.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities related to special education and behavioral therapy techniques.
- Assist in creating a safe and supportive environment for clients during therapy sessions.
Experience
- Experience or training in behavioral therapy or applied behavior analysis is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, data collection methods, and documentation practices is beneficial.
- Previous experience working with individuals with autism or in special education settings is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are essential.
- A commitment to ongoing learning and professional growth in the field of behavioral health is expected.
