Role: This school-based LCSW position works with the school leadership team to provide and coordinate mental health and wellness services to Momentous School’s students, families, and teachers. This position strengthens Momentous Institute’s commitment to education and mental health by expanding school-based prevention and intervention programs. The successful candidate will be a who is experienced in trauma-informed care in an elementary school setting.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
· Identify and respond to the mental health and wellness needs of students, families, and teachers by:
o Fostering student pro-social skills
o Parent consultations to screen for child mental health needs, provide psychoeducation and support with referrals.
o Supervising and facilitating the referral process for students receiving mental health services and/or testing within or outside of Momentous Institute
o Developing classroom-based intervention plans in collaboration with teachers, parents, and members of Momentous Institute’s clinical team.
o Providing direct therapy services to a small caseload of students
o Participating in and supporting Momentous School’s parent education classes
o Creating and offering new teacher-focused mental health initiatives and reflective spaces
o Offering teacher professional development on prioritized topics including mental health, trauma, and adult well-being
· Co-Lead Momentous School’s Strategic Intervention Management (SIM) process, uniting teachers, and clinicians in developing strategies to strengthen students mental and social emotional health.
· Support teachers with implementation of social, emotional, or behavioral interventions developed during SIM process, by Momentous’ therapists or outside providers.
· Work with School Leadership and Momentous Institute’s Associate Training Director to build a practicum training program for master’s students pursuing a MSW who are interested in school based mental health interventions.
· Stay up to date on current trends and innovations in school-based mental health, so that new ideas in wellness can be intentionally cultivated and piloted at Momentous School.
· Attend Mental Health Services staff meetings, clinical training, and case consultations to facilitate professional development and strengthen internal collaboration.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Behavioral change theories and practices including early intervention positive behavior supports; tiered intervention practices; brief counseling techniques and crisis intervention; behavioral and education- based mental health needs of students including mental health disorders; special education programs and the IEP process; mental health and wellness related community and state resources; health regulations and ethics related to school-based mental health services including Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA); effective staff development methods; ability to mine for innovation
Educational and Experience Requirements:
· Master's degree from an accredited college or university
· Valid Texas license as a (LCSW) by the Texas State Board
· 3-5 years of experience providing mental health services in an elementary school
· Experience working with and incorporating caregivers in treatment.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish
· Strong intra- and interpersonal competencies, including:

Pay: $70,000.00 - $82,000.00 per year
