The Certified Peer Specialist plays a vital role in supporting individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges. This position involves leveraging personal experiences to inspire hope and facilitate recovery among peers. The Certified Peer Specialist will work collaboratively with clients to promote well-being, provide guidance, and foster a supportive environment that encourages personal growth and resilience.

Duties

• Provide one-on-one support to individuals in recovery, sharing personal experiences to foster connection and understanding.
• Assist clients in navigating behavioral health systems and accessing necessary resources.
• Collaborate with mental health professionals to develop individualized recovery plans tailored to each client's needs.
• Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and progress in accordance with organizational policies.

Skills

• Strong mentoring abilities to guide individuals through their recovery process.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients and team members.
• Empathy, patience, and a nonjudgmental attitude towards individuals facing challenges in their recovery journey.

This role is essential for creating a supportive community that empowers individuals on their path to recovery through shared experiences and professional guidance.
