Join our team in Augusta, ME where your work as a Substance Use Counselor supports transformation and long-term wellness.

As a Substance Use Counselor at Enso, you’ll provide individual therapy, and group counseling to adults in our outpatient (IOP/OPT) and dual diagnosis programs. You’ll work collaboratively with case managers, physicians, and our Utilization Review (UR) team to ensure that clients receive high-quality, coordinated care.

Substance Use Counselor Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate group therapy and provide individual counseling using evidence-based practices
• Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and collaborate on treatment plans
• Coordinate care and communicate with families, referral sources, and discharge planners
• Maintain clinical documentation in line with HIPAA and best practice standards
• Participate in clinical team meetings, case reviews, and administrative supervision
• Maintain a 60% billable / 40% non-billable workload ratio
• Help create a safe, therapeutic environment for patients and staff

Substance Use Counselor Qualifications:

• Licensure Required: LADC or CADC
• Experience in substance abuse treatment, dual diagnosis, or mental health counseling
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care, CBT, DBT, or other evidence-based practices
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and clinical documentation skills
