PPosition: Family Coach Supervisor/Community Engagement
Supervisor: Chapter Director
Classification: Full Time, exempt
Position Summary:
The Family Coach Supervisor is the key leadership role taking end-to-end operational oversight of the SFFC Circle of Support model, working with both families requesting help and volunteers. Provide clinical/safety oversight of SFFC program implementation.
- Provide supervision, training and support for SFFC volunteer family coaches serving the chapter.
- Develop relationships with referral sources and ensure # of referrals to meet performance metrics.
- Provide emergency, on-call support to staff and volunteers in SFFC program.
Core Responsibilities:
- Oversee Family Support to families facing hardship, isolation and challenging life circumstances. Work with parents to set goals, connect to community resources, and match with volunteers.
- Provide oversight and monitoring to partnering family and volunteer relationships, helping to problem solve relational and resource needs.
- Responsible for supervising, training and supporting Family Coach volunteers on all aspects of the hosting process, including being available on an emergency, on-call basis.
- Ensures family coaches help parents set goals and efficiently work to fulfill those goals.
- Maintain records in our Case Management System for all open referrals, ensuring timely data entry. Includes entering volunteer assignments, ensuring proper paperwork is filled out and uploaded, etc.
- Complete required surveys with parents as beginning, mid-point and post assignment.
- Assist in promoting community relations and ministry publicity, including outreach to community service providers, tabling at community events, making presentations, and other assignments as needed.
- Maintain positive, collaborative working relationships with volunteers and community agencies.
- Assist in completing home screenings, interviews and fingerprinting of volunteers as needed.
- Participate in networking with local community resource providers to create a referral base and resource network.
- Consult with Chapter Director on referrals, determine program “fit” and match to volunteers, including but not limited to establishing hosting arrangements.
- Responsible for quality of client care, demonstrating a compassionate and caring demeanor, dignity to the family and their story, and using a strengths-based approach in establishing goals and relationship building.
- Assist with development and execution of training for Safe Family volunteers and parents.
- Assist in the Safe Family selection, transportation, and placement of children into host family homes and other supportive services with Safe Family volunteers. (i.e. Family Friend Arrangements)
- Maintain current knowledge pertaining to Safe Families family coaching; continue professional development through Guild meetings, suggested trainings, and conferences.
- Participate in all Safe Family staff functions, weekly meetings, and supervision.
- Participate in fundraising activities and other events to promote the Safe Families for Children movement.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following areas: Social Work; Psychology, Education, Nursing, etc.
- Experience working with at-risk children and families.
- The ability to schedule one’s time and to work autonomously.
- Must provide own transportation and willing to transport children as needed.
- Communicate effectively and work with staff, volunteers, and community partners.
- Must be willing and able to support the mission of Safe Families.
- Willing to work evenings and weekends as needed (within hours allotted).
- Commitment to personal growth and development.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and produce innovative solutions to organizational or personal challenges.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience collaborating with local faith communities and individuals with Christian faith.
- Previous supervisory experience, including recruiting, training, and mobilizing volunteers.
- Public speaking experience in a variety of settings including child welfare, faith communities, and collaborative networks.
- Understand and experience implementing health and safety responsibilities.
- Ability to prioritize and work under pressure.
- Flexibility to respond to a changing environment.
Screenings:
The applicant must submit a criminal background check, a child abuse and neglect screening, submit fingerprints and maintain a cleared status throughout employment. The applicant must have a clear the motor vehicle report in order to transport children or families.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
