Job Summary
Brain Spectrum Neuropsychology, a busy and well-respected private practice in beautiful La Jolla, California, is seeking a psychologist or neuropsychologist to perform diagnostic evaluations within our comprehensive assessment framework. Our practice is known for tailoring evaluations across the lifespan and providing in-depth neurodevelopmental and ASD assessments using comprehensive batteries that include the ADOS-2. We also provide nuanced evaluations of complex profiles that involve co-occurring conditions like depression, anxiety, OCD, ADHD, and bipolar disorder, and we also offer in-depth evaluations for cognitive, learning, and processing disorders. At Brain Spectrum, work closely as a team and in collaboration with other community professionals, valuing quality over quantity. The ideal candidate is someone with strong writing skills, who has adult assessment experience, is genuinely passionate about psychological evaluation, and who is eager to continuously learn and collaborate, ensuring exceptional care and insight for every individual we evaluate.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive diagnostic evaluations and assessments to understand patients' psychological needs.
  • Develop individualized treatment recommendations based on clinical research and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care for patients.
  • Stay updated on advancements in psychology, assessment, diagnosis, and diagnostic instruments.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Provide highly responsive communication with clients and Brain Spectrum team members.
  • Maintain a compassionate, kind, affirming (and neurodiversity affirming) professional interaction style with families.

Experience

  • A Doctoral degree in Psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure as a Clinical Psychologist in California.
  • Neuropsychologists are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience working with both children and adults is preferred.
  • Experience and familiarity with ASD, neurodivergence, and comprehensive assessment is essential.
  • ADOS-2 experience (Modules 2,3, and 4) preferred, but training is available.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse as well as upper SES populations essential.
