Certified Counselor Driving Under the Influence
Position ** Counselor Part-Time
Reports * DUI Program Director
Neighborhood House of North Richmonds (NHNR) mission is to improve the quality of life for residents of all ages in North Richmond and surrounding communities. NHNR complies with all federal and state employment laws.
Position * Under general supervision, facilitates prevention education classes, group sessions, and individual counseling for DUI Program participants. Counselors are responsible for charting and maintaining accurate participant records in accordance with DUI Program operation guidelines and California Title 9 Regulations.
Minimum *
- License **** Valid California Motor Vehicle Operators License
- ***** Two (2) years of full-time experience counseling persons in a substance abuse program or its equivalent
- Certification ***** Certificate as an Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor issued by CAADE, CADTP, or CCAPP
Primary ** (May include all or part of the duties below)
- Schedule clients for education and small group sessions
- Conduct enrollment, orientations, and process paperwork
- Track and document participant progress weekly
- Orient clients on program participation requirements
- Maintain accurate charts and case files of all participants
- Submit problem cases to Program Director when necessary
- Facilitate education classes, group, and face-to-face sessions
- Prepare participant reinstatement worksheets and agreements
- Prepare participant program conversion worksheet agreements
- Provide participants with information regarding community resources when appropriate
- Maintain accurate client case records
- Prepare reports as required
- Participate in meetings, committees, and training when assigned
- May act as a backup to cover absent DUI Counselors
- Perform other related duties as assigned
