Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Technician to join our team. This role is essential in providing support to individuals with developmental disabilities and autism, utilizing evidence-based practices to promote positive behavioral changes. The Behavior Technician will work closely with clients, families, and other professionals to implement individualized treatment plans and ensure the highest level of patient care.

Qualifications

· High school or equivalent (Required)

· Driver's License (Required)

  • Pass a criminal background check and TB test (Required)
  • Personal vehicle with proof of auto insurance or another reliable means of transportation to drive to client’s homes.
  • Availability of weekdays (Mon-Fri between 8am-8 pm)- very flexible schedule (Weekends available)
  • Eager, energetic, and passionate demeanor when working with individuals with exceptional needs.
  • Languages: Spanish (preferred, but not required)

Duties

  • Understand Autism and how to treat the deficits and behaviors associated with the diagnosis
  • Learn applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles and procedures.
  • Learn directly from Board Certified Behavior Analysts how to implement ABA programs in the natural environment, such as the home, school, place of employment, and community.
  • Provide one-to-one ABA interventions (i.e., evidenced-based communication, play, and social skills) and parent training.
  • Implement treatment plans across multiple domains, including language, social, cognitive, executive functions, adaptive, and independent living, as well as pre-employment and vocational skills
  • Work with applications, games, and web-based technology via an iPad
  • Work with children in their homes, teaching communication skills, social skills, self-help skills, and play skills through Applied Behavior Analysis principles to help them reach their highest potential.
  • Learn directly from Board Certified Behavior Analysts how to provide therapy to children and family in need of support
  • Drive to clients homes where you’ll follow and use the plans from Board Certified Behavior Analysts.
  • Always maintain confidentiality of all clients as well as a professional conduct
  • Report clients progress and make recommendations to your BCBA clinical supervisor.
  • Participate in Adelante Behavioral Healths ongoing trainings, including our Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training program.
  • Maintain accurate records of clients performance via electronic data collection, clinical notes, and graphs.
  • Maintain accurate records of your billable time.
  • Accurately record treatment data
  • Engage in and ensure client safety

Physical Demands

Under normal circumstances the employee will need to have the physical capacity to continuously use his/her hands for simple and firm grasping and fine manipulation. The employee may be required to do the following:

  • Physically able to bend, stand, stoop, or sit for long periods of time
  • Lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
  • Push / Pull up to 50 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Physical demands may vary for each client. You will be provided with more information if special physical demands are needed for a client.

Pay: From $19.50 per hour
