BoysGirls Aid in Portland, OR is looking to hire a Youth Permanency Specialist.Do you have experience working with children in foster care? This Youth Permanency Specialist position earnsa competitive salarystarting at $20.60 - $22.00/hr. Spanish-speaking staff are eligible for an 8% salary increase. Bilingual employees are eligible for an additional 8% pay differential. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A YOUTH PERMANENCY SPECIALIST

As a Youth Permanency Specialist, you will engage with youth to better understand their permanency needs using play and therapeutic activities. Utilize the 3-5-7 and Life Story Work models to support youth in processing their history, grieving losses and rebuilding relationships. Provide coaching, support and psychoeducation to caregivers related to permanency and trauma-informed parenting strategies such as Collaborative Problem Solving. Support and facilitate relationship stability between youth and caregivers. Participate in child/youth team meetings and effectively collaborate with others on child/youth teams. You will make a difference in the lives of children and families which will give you an incredible sense of purpose and that is why you will love your job!


QUALIFICATIONS FOR A YOUTH PERMANENCY SPECIALIST

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field plus four (4) years of experience in social work, counseling or psychology, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation to visit clients at various locations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and prior experience in providing services to children and families who are receiving services from the Oregon Department of Human Service.
  • Bi-lingual/bi-cultural in English and Spanish highly desired but not required to apply.
