Arts in Action Community Charter School opened in Fall 2011 with grades K-5. The elementary program aims to provide a rigorous academic foundation while developing the whole child through a rich arts program, a daily socio-emotional learning component, and modeling advocacy through social justice initiatives.
Arts in Action Community Middle School opened in Fall 2016 and serves grades 6-8 students. We believe that all students deserve access to the arts. We believe that instruction should be culturally relevant, inclusive and meet the diverse needs of all learners. We believe social justice is integral to education and aim to teach students how to advocate for themselves, our community, and the world.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The School Psychologist is responsible for the psychological assessment of academic, social, emotional, and behavioral domains utilizing problem-solving and standardized evaluations. The School Psychologist monitors the completion of case study evaluations and participates in Individual Education Plan (IEP) conferences and problem-solving meetings, designing systems, programs, and services that maximize students’ social, emotional, and educational success. In collaboration with staff, families, students, and communities, the school psychologist promotes effective educational environments and provides individual and group counseling services.

policies, employment practices, and all other operations shall not charge tuition and shall

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct psychological assessments, interpret results, and participate in IEP conferences, team meetings, and problem-solving meetings
- Provide school-based individual, group, and family therapy (including DIS and ERICS counseling)
- Monitor completion of case study evaluations and participate in IEP conferences and problem-solving meetings
- Participate in crisis intervention efforts and provide insight into the development of functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention plans
- Integrate psychological services into the classroom environment as appropriate
- Assist staff in designing and implementing appropriate academic and behavioral interventions and accommodations for students
- Evaluate and/or translate research into practice and sufficiently understand research design and statistics to plan and conduct investigations and program evaluations to improve services
- Contribute to school-wide program development that furthers the integration of social, coping, and problem-solving supports in the classroom
- Provide support services to parents/guardians as needed
- Consult with other district-wide psychologists and resources to recommend providing mental health services outside the scope of the school sites based on individual student needs
- Coordinate and/or collaborate with various individuals/agencies to promote and provide comprehensive services to students and families
- Provide and/or assist in professional development for staff, parents, and/or the community
- Participate in professional growth activities yearly
- Help support rant initiatives
- Help support with Medi-Cal Reimbursements
- Other tasks as requested
- An earned master's degree or advanced degree of equivalent standard from a regionally accredited college or university. Candidates must also possess a Pupil Personnel Services Credential authorizing service as a school psychologist
- Valid CA Driver’s License and proof of automobile insurance
- Possesses a growth mindset and a love of learning
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
