We are looking for a Camp Counselor who is over 21 years old to supervise young campers from all over the world and make sure they learn and have fun.
What do Camp Counselors do?
Under the supervision of the Camp Director, Assistant Director and Camp Leader assists in supervising all activities including but not limited to wake up times, mealtimes, accompanying students to all attractions, boarding and disembarking the bus. While doing so, the Camp Counselor is expected to serve as an appropriate role model for the students in his/her care. The most important out of all Camp Counselor duties is to ensure campers are safe at all times. You’ll be responsible for overseeing their activities and ensuring they don’t get lost or hurt. The job duties of a Camp Counselor include planning summer camp games, helping children and teenagers with their English and taking them to diverse activities. Being reliable and able to build good relationships with children are two essential traits of a Camp Counselor. You need to have knowledge in the English language. The right person for the job is cheerful, energetic, friendly, hard-working, tolerant, flexible, conscientious, caring, and able to adapt to camp life including the long hours, rules, and curfews.
Responsibilities
- Check students for KEF t-shirts, Apple Airtags, school ID card and water bottle before leaving the dorms
- Plan activities or sports for groups of campers
- Escort and oversee participants
- Disembark first before any student and remain by the bus door until all passengers are off the bus
- Educate campers through games and explorations
- Resolve occasional behavioral issues
- Keep group together at the parks
- Make sure all safety rules are followed
- Ensure that campers are keeping their bedrooms clean and organized
- Ensure a packet of water bottles is placed in the refrigerator every night
- Perform first aid or take care of injuries as needed
- Keep accurate incident logs

Requirements
- Must be at least 21 and have a high school diploma.
- First aid- and CPR-certified preferred
- Proven experience as Camp Counselor or similar role working with children is preferred
- Willing to live on-site for the duration of employment
Physical Demands
- The weather in Florida is often hot and rainy in the Summer. You must be able to stay outside for sustained periods of time without air conditioning.
- Position requires standing, stooping, sitting, walking long distances in hilly terrain, and occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds with or without assistance.
- Position requires working weekends and nights, with time off in between camp sessions. Camp days are often long and at times require late night camper support.
