We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor (LCSW, LCSWA, LCAS, LCASA, LCMHC, LCMHCA) to join our team. SUMMARY, DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Caring Services believes in offering a holistic continuum of care for all consumers that seek substance abuse services with us. Clinical interventions are strength-based and focused on promoting recovery, symptom reduction, increased coping skills, and achievement of the highest level of functioning in the community.
Candidates for the Substance Abuse Counselor position should have a commitment to working with the community driven process and basic respect for people, high energy, a strong motivation, flexibility and patience, an ability to live with ambivalence, analytical thinking skills, a sense of humor, perspective and vision and persistence, focus, and follow through.
A.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Conduct ongoing assessment and develop and maintain treatment plans for program participants.
· Provide direct counseling services in individual and group setting, based upon evidence-based practice and generally accepted theoretical paradigms.
· Perform case management functions of linking and arranging for services and referrals.
· Assist clients in applying for disability, Medicaid and Medicare as needed.
· Assists clients in applying for GED services, higher education opportunities and vocational education opportunities as well as assisting in the application process for the financial aid.
· Manage NC TOPPS interviews and updates for all clients.
· Coordinate and facilitate case management needs with the other outside service providers.
· Works closely with other clinical/professional staff to maintain communication and provide feedback, standardize procedures and expedite service implementation.
· Coordinates and oversees discharge planning process including the development of a discharge plan and referral to follow-up resources.
· Reviews, files and maintains charts.
· Maintains compliance with CSI, NASW, and NCSAPPB Codes of Ethics.
· Maintain positive working relationships with area treatment centers, shelters, the community at large, the court system and other homeless programs.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
A bachelor’s degree in Human Services or a related field is required. A Master’s degree is preferred. A License or Associate License in a behavioral health practice is required (LCAS, LCSW, LCMHC). Prior substance use disorder counseling experience is preferred. Prior case management experience is preferred.
