Job Title: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) – Correctional Facility
Job Type: Contract
Overview:
Client is seeking qualified and compassionate Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs) to provide critical behavioral health services in correctional settings. This role involves delivering evidence-based therapy and support to incarcerated individuals dealing with mental health and substance use challenges. Ideal candidates are resilient, self-driven, and experienced in high-security or public health environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group therapy to inmates addressing trauma, depression, anxiety, and addiction
- Conduct clinical assessments, intakes, and ongoing treatment planning
- Respond to behavioral health emergencies and implement appropriate interventions
- Maintain accurate documentation and treatment progress notes in compliance with facility regulations
- Collaborate with custody, medical, and case management teams to support inmate well-being
- Facilitate specialized programs (e.g., anger management, crisis intervention, substance recovery)
- Participate in team briefings, training, and quality assurance initiatives
Requirements:
- Active LPC license in the state of assignment
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field
- 2+ years of counseling experience, preferably in corrections, inpatient, or public health settings
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification – required
- Ability to work autonomously and maintain professional boundaries in a secure facility
- Must live within or be willing to relocate within 70 miles of the assigned facility
Preferred Skills:
- Strong clinical judgment and crisis management
- Clear and professional communication
- Familiarity with correctional healthcare protocols and documentation systems
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $41.00 - $54.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
Work Location: On the road
