Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical counseling and experience working with children and adolescents. This role involves providing psychological assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering therapeutic interventions to individuals and groups. The Psychologist will play a crucial role in supporting the mental health and well-being of our clients, particularly those experiencing trauma, PTSD, or other behavioral health issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct psychological assessments, including clinical interviews, psychometric testing, and diagnostic evaluations to identify mental health disorders and develop treatment plans.
• Provide individual and group psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and behavioral health management for inmates in the Mental Health Services Delivery System (MHSDS).
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to deliver integrated care.
• Prepare professional case reports documenting findings, diagnoses, and treatment recommendations.
• Participate in treatment planning and case conferences to ensure comprehensive care and adherence to ethical and legal standards.
• Consult with case managers and clinical staff on psychological aspects of inmate care.
• May provide supervision to psychology interns or pre-licensed psychologists (depending on licensure status).
• Adhere to principles of cultural sensitivity and comply with state and federal regulations, including HIPAA and mandated reporting statutes.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Psychology from an accredited institution, with specialization in clinical, counseling, or forensic psychology. Graduates of foreign or unaccredited universities must provide a written statement from the California Board of Psychology verifying educational equivalence.
• Licensure:
• Licensed Psychologists: Must possess a valid, unrestricted license as a Psychologist issued by the California Board of Psychology.
• Pre-Licensed Psychologists: May be appointed but must obtain a valid license within three years of appointment. For part-time employment, an extension of up to five years may be granted, proportional to part-time hours.
• Experience:
• Minimum 3+ years of experience is required.
• For licensed psychologists, experience in clinical or forensic psychology is preferred, particularly in crisis intervention, individual/group psychotherapy, or working with justice-involved populations.
• Pre-licensed candidates may qualify with completion of a doctoral internship.
• Skills and Abilities:
• Proficiency in psychodiagnosis, psychometric testing, and psychotherapy.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and provide culturally sensitive services.
• Strong communication skills for preparing reports and collaborating with staff.
• Knowledge of ethical standards, state laws, and confidentiality regulations.
