Position Overview:
Northpointe Council is currently seeking a full time Counselor for our Comprehensive Outpatient Program in Niagara Falls. The ideal candidates will have strong skills in client engagement, counseling, clinical evaluation, treatment planning, and community education. As a counselor, you will provide comprehensive services to individuals and families affected by addiction, empowering them on their path to recovery.
The following duties represent core responsibilities of the role. Additional tasks may be assigned as necessary.
- Provide direct counseling to clients through individual, group, and family sessions to support recovery from alcohol and drug dependence.
- Evaluate clients’ needs and conditions through interviews, record reviews, and collaboration with interdisciplinary professionals to inform treatment planning.
- Monitor client progress, adjust treatment strategies as necessary, and provide ongoing therapeutic support throughout the recovery process.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, including psychosocial and family histories, to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Complete required documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries, in compliance with clinical, federal, and state regulations.
- Provide referrals to appropriate services such as medical care, social services, educational programs, and employment support.
- Participate in clinical supervision, case conferences, and team meetings to support integrated care delivery.
Work Schedule Options:
Option 1:
- Monday – Thursday: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Friday: 6:00 AM – 11:00 AM
OR
Option 2:
- Monday – Thursday: Two shifts from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM and two shifts from 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM (specific days to be determined)
- Friday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, or a related field with a CASAC
OR
- Master’s degree in a program that will grant licensure (LMHC-P, LMHC, LMSW, LCSW) in the state of New York
