Job Description Summary

Responsible for a wide variety of activities related to the recruitment and enrollment of first year and transfer students. The incumbent will serve as the primary contact for prospective students, their families and other interested parties regarding admission to Ringling College. Responsible for setting up and undertaking an extensive recruitment schedule which can amount to 8-12 weeks on the road per academic year with most of the travel occurring in the fall semester. (Title and salary will be commensurate with experience.)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Note: The following duties are illustrative and not exhaustive. Responsibilities may evolve based on organizational needs, and similar or related tasks may be assigned as necessary. Management reserves the right to assign additional duties as required.

  • Counsel prospective students on all that Ringling College has to offer and answer any questions pertaining to admission to Ringling, criteria for scholarships, and a cursory understanding of financial aid and the process by which one applies.
  • Effectively and independently represent the College
  • 's academic and campus life programs by presenting to high school art classes, attending college fairs and participating in portfolio days nationwide.
  • Assist with the evaluation of student applications for admission and scholarship.
  • Review academic transcripts, verify grade point averages, evaluate applicant artwork (providing feedback as necessary), and read letters of recommendation and applicant essays. Recommend admissibility of applicants. Maintain regular contact with designated applicants throughout the year.
  • Correspond with prospective students, guidance counselors, and art instructors.
  • Plan and implement strategies assigned by the Dean of Admissions.
  • Serves as Admissions liaison for an academic department(s) on-campus.
  • Collect and analyze data to assess recruiting effectiveness.
  • Determine yield of inquiries and make recommendations regarding future frequency of visits.
  • Assist with development of recruitment and marketing publications. Make recommendations pertaining to content and design for appropriate target audience.
  • Assist with planning, coordinating, implementation, and hosting of special recruitment events and programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to travel extensively including weekend and evening hours, particularly during the fall recruiting season.
  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, and database management software, with the capacity to learn and utilize admissions systems.
  • Possession of a valid driver
  • 's license.

Education and Experience

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum:

Bachelor
  • 's degree in a related field preferably in visual arts.
  • Ability to visually evaluate student work, review portfolios, and provide feedback.

Preferred:

Knowledge of a second language.
