Now Hiring: Substance Abuse Counselor at Evolutions Detox
Are you a passionate and certified counselor looking to make a difference in the lives of individuals battling addiction and co-occurring disorders? Evolutions Detox invites you to join our dedicated team of professionals as a Substance Abuse Counselor.
Position Overview:
The Substance Abuse Counselor provides comprehensive care through individualized counseling, case management, and recovery services. This role is central to client progress, offering both emotional support and structured planning in a professional clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide weekly individual counseling and case management for assigned clients
- Facilitate 3–4 recovery-focused groups weekly
- Conduct screenings, intake assessments, and crisis interventions
- Develop collaborative treatment plans with measurable goals and objectives
- Maintain timely and accurate electronic documentation within 24 hours of client interaction
- Communicate regularly with physicians, nurses, and program directors about client care
- Create discharge and aftercare plans in partnership with therapists
- Attend clinical meetings, supervision sessions, and professional development trainings
- Adhere to all ethical, HIPAA, and incidental medical services (IMS) standards
Minimum Qualifications:
- Certification through CCAPP, CAADE, CADTP, or similar recognized body
- At least 2 years of experience in substance abuse treatment or related mental health field preferred
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- CPR/First Aid certification, TB test, and health screening (must be current)
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of co-occurring disorders, treatment planning, and detox protocols
