WE SERVE STUDENTS AGES 3-22 WITH EMOTIONAL AND BEHAVIORAL DIFFICULTIES, INCLUDING STUDENTS WITH AN EMOTIONAL DISABILITY, OTHER HEALTH IMPAIRMENT, and/or AUTISM**
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for promoting the mental health and well-being of students, providing psychological assessments, and implementing interventions to support students' academic and emotional success. This role requires collaboration with educators, parents, and other professionals to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations to identify students' needs.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers and parents.
- Provide crisis intervention services to students experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges.
- Offer psychotherapy sessions to students dealing with various mental health issues.
- Create safety plans for at-risk students, ensuring their well-being within the school environment.
- Work with students with disabilities to provide tailored support and accommodations.
- Collaborate with school staff to promote mental health awareness and implement school-wide programs.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation related to student care and interventions.
Skills
The successful candidate will possess the following skills:
- Proficiency in medical terminology relevant to psychological assessments and interventions.
- Strong background in school psychology, including knowledge of educational systems and student needs.
- Experience in crisis management and the ability to respond effectively in high-stress situations.
- Familiarity with patient care practices, ensuring a supportive environment for all students.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities, promoting inclusivity within the school setting.
- Expertise in crisis intervention techniques to address immediate student needs.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with educators, parents, and external professionals.
- Knowledge of diagnostic evaluation methods to assess student mental health accurately.
