Assistant Professor Applicants must have an earned doctorate in social work or a related field prior to the beginning of the fall 2024 semester, and a master's degree in social work.

A beginning record of research and scholarship is required. Interest and a demonstrated commitment to social work practice in urban environments required.
Other Preferences for Consideration

Job Duties
Duties & Responsibilities:
- The SSW faculty position involves research, teaching, advising and related services.
- A commitment to social work practice in urban environments as demonstrated through teaching, publications, research and/or practice.
- The successful candidate will focus on the preparation of urban practitioners and leaders, policy experts, knowledge producers, scholars and social work educators who are committed to solving urban issues and problems and improving the quality of life for urban communities.
- There will be a special focus on urban children, youth and families, school social work, gerontology and public health social work within a social and economic justice framework. Research in the area of Urban Violence highly desired.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across disciplines with community
- partners are also expected.
- Assistant Professors are required to teach in the BSW and/or MSW Programs; conduct school, university, and community service, and have a beginning record of research and scholarship.
- Interest and a demonstrated commitment to social work practice in urban environments are also required.

- Practice experience and research focus in the areas of Gerontology, Public Health, Addictions, and Urban
- Violence and Crime preferred.
- Online instruction is also highly valued.
- Current areas of specialized practice include addictions, gerontology, public health social work, urban children youth and families and school social
work. - Priority will be given to candidates with experience and a strong commitment to student-centered pedagogy and engaged learning.
