Memory Care Activities Coordinator - Life Enrichment Summary:
Responsible for the overall management and oversight of all memory care programming. Ensures excellence in resident engagement and the programming to meet all memory care resident needs; provides outreach and support to families; maintaining high resident and family satisfaction.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Must adhere and lead staff to adhere to or exceed established Policies and Procedures (P&P), Morningside House Standards, regulatory practices, and state and federal regulations for assisted living facilities
- Professionally assists marketing department with community tours, exhibits excellent customer service skills in dealing with prospective residents and their families both in person and on the telephone.
- Responsible for staying abreast of all major developments and latest thinking in dementia care, and attending dementia training and continuing educations programs as required.
- Responsible for managing all programming unit staff including, but not limited to, recruiting, interviewing, hiring, new staff orientation and ongoing training.
- Responsible for knowing each resident and for designing programming to meet each resident’s individual needs and abilities.
- Works in conjunction with Director of Life Enrichment to develop stimulating and fulfilling monthly Life Enhancement Programming Calendars for the memory care residents.
- Works in conjunction with all related departments in the planning and scheduling of special events for memory care residents, including resident/family socials, and family support groups.
- Functions as liaison with families and health and wellness issues for residents residing in the secured unit.
- Responsible for maintaining high overall resident and family satisfaction in our memory care program.
- Establishes contacts within the community to include the Alzheimer’s Association and all other available resources. Coordinates monthly communication with families pertaining to new ideas, activities and upcoming events.
- Assists sales and marketing with memory care leads.
- In conjunction with Director of Life Enrichment, orders and maintains programming supplies.
- Participates in meetings including department, resident council and family counsel as pertains to Memory Care residents.
- Assist with audits for programming.
- Works closely with Memory Care Director and Life Enrichment Director and staff.
Qualificatios:
- Minimum of two (2) years supervisory/management in the personal care home or assisted living setting.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification
