Teachers College, Columbia University seeks a lecturer with recent relevant experience to join the core faculty in the Counseling Psychology Ed.M. program in the Department of Counseling and Clinical Psychology. The individual will contribute to teaching, advising, and general program administration. This is a one-year, in-person position.

Job Summary/Basic Function:
Teachers College, Columbia University seeks a lecturer with recent relevant experience to join the core faculty in the Counseling Psychology Ed.M. program in the Department of Counseling and Clinical Psychology. The individual will contribute to teaching, advising, and general program administration. This is a one-year, in-person position.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Teaching
  • Advisement and supervision
  • Program administration and record-keeping
  • College, department, and/or program service
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Earned doctorate in counseling psychology, clinical psychology, or counselor education
  • Preparation to teach core masters-level counseling courses, such as Foundations of Counseling Skills (School Counseling and/or Mental Health Counseling sections), Group Counseling Skills, Theories of Counseling, Consultations with Systems and Community Agencies, Evaluation Methods, and Career Counseling
  • Demonstration of a strong professional identity as a counselor educator and/or psychologist.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • In addition to Ph.D., a completed masters’ degrees in either Mental Health Counseling or School Counseling

  • Knowledge and experience working with research-based best practices for training counselors

Salary Range:

$70,000-$80,000
