24 Summary:
The LMSW Social Worker provides direct social work services to patients and their families who utilize the Emergency Department of Cook Children's Health Care System. This position requires an assertive person who is able to communicate effectively, problem solve and think critically. This position requires dialogue with individuals regarding difficult topics. This Social Worker will be available to other floors during the scheduled shift to assist with any social work needs.
Education:
Education:
- MSW/MSSW from an accredited school of Social Work.
- Previous experience in a hospital setting and some prior experience working with children and families is preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
- Current Texas License for LMSW.
- Basis Life Support (BLS) Certification for Health Care Providers required within 30 days of employment and must be maintained per Medical Center Policy, MC 175.
