Associate Marriage & Family Therapist (AMFT) / Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW) Position

Parkford Counseling Associates – Remote and/or in-person (Santa Barbara, Ca)

Parkford Counseling Associates is seeking postgraduate, pre-licensed Associate Marriage & Family Therapists (AMFTs) or Associate Clinical Social Workers (ACSWs) to join our private practice. Must be located within the state of California.

Candidates must have a master's degree in counseling, social work, or psychology and be registered in good standing with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. This role offers both tele-therapy and/or in-person supervision of client hours, by Anne Parkford, PsyD, LMFT.

· Keep timely clinical documentation and submit client notes within 24 hours.

· Communicate effectively with clients, families, and supervisors as needed.

· Maintain professional liability insurance and a HIPAA-compliant remote workspace.

· Manage scheduling, set client fees (with guidance), and maintain professional online presence.

· Own a password-protected desktop/laptop and have a reliable, high-speed internet connection.

· Abide by all telehealth and HIPAA guidelines to maintain client confidentiality.

· Maintain professional online boundaries to prevent dual relationships.

· This part-time, at-will position requires a minimum availability of 5-10 client hours per week, with the opportunity for more, based on referrals and availability.

· Attend weekly two-hour group supervision (Wednesdays, 9 AM–11 AM) and take part in additional training opportunities.

· Have a strong desired to pursue a specialization in couples therapy.

· Have 4-10 existing clients or be capable of actively growing their caseload to at least 10 clients per week within three months.

· Have couples therapy competency and experience.

· Be curious about social systems of oppression and their impact on mental health

· Will have at least 700 of their supervised associate hours completed.

· Use an eclectic therapeutic approach to individual therapy, incorporating at least one modality beyond cognitive techniques.

· Be self-motivated, open to feedback, and proactive in networking and marketing.

· Have a serious interest in couples therapy (RLT training or exposure is a plus).

· Be familiar with DSM-5 and AMFT/ACSW scope of practice.

• Flexible caseload: 5-15 clients per week, with an average of 10-12.

• Compensation: Profit-sharing model – Associates receive 50% of client fees collected, typically $60-$100 per session.

• Referrals obtained through self-marketing and networking, word-of-mouth, and supervisor recommendations.

• Business coaching and mentorship in private practice development and couples therapy specialization.

• Administrative independence: Manage scheduling, client communication, and fee setting under supervision guidelines.

• Payroll processed monthly on last day of the month.
