- Is an active collaborative member of the district’s school counseling team.
- Intentional in meeting the needs of the individual students and demonstrate progress through data driven results. Be an advocate for students.
- May be involved in all or some of the following depending upon the school level:
Testing activities and test interpretation
Scheduling and educational program planning
Career awareness and exploration
Maintain and or monitor necessary student records
Provide student evaluation and recommendations
Provide social/emotional short term counseling
Crisis intervention
Participate and or serve as the PAR for case conferences and serve as the case manager for 504s as appropriate
Provide district and community resources to families including making referrals for special education. Maintain logs of referrals to service providers, and other counseling related activities.
Communicate with parents, teachers, and administrators on behalf of students' welfare, providing necessary resources and services.
Provide academic counseling
Gather and communicate information regarding high school programs, graduation requirements, tests, and results, career and postsecondary educational opportunities.5. Be an example of exemplary adult behavior for students.6. Project a genuine care and concern for all students.7. Other duties assigned by the principal and or district supervisor.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
