The Department of Sports Medicine at Banner - University Medicine Phoenix is now interviewing sports psychologists to provide care to athletes of all ages at Arizona’s destination Banner Sports Medicine Center in stunning Scottsdale, Arizona . The ideal candidate thrives in a highly dynamic practice with a collaborative team of Primary Care Sports Medicine Physicians, Orthopedic Surgeons, Physical and Occupational Therapists, Sports Nutrition/Performance clinicians, and a full concussion team with access to the most cutting-edge clinical technology available. The ideal candidate has the proven ability to administer evidence-based sports psychotherapy services to athletes of all ages and levels; strong psychological assessment and evaluation skills; effectively collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of providers as well as professional, collegiate, and youth athletic teams and programs. This position will have the unique opportunity to partner with the Banner High Performance Center, co-located at Banner Sports Medicine Scottsdale, to provide mental skills coaching to enhance mental performance, resilience, and overall well-being. This role involves developing and implementing tailored mental skills training programs to help athletes optimize their performance, manage stress, and achieve their personal and competitive goals. The role will work with athletes of all ages and abilities, including youth, professional, and elite athletes across a variety of sports. Location: Banner Sports Medicine Scottsdale, 7400 N. Dobson Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85256 Schedule: M-F |Regular Business Hours Minimum Requirements: PhD or PsyD and licensed as a sport psychologist required Completion of APA or APPIC approved Internship and Post-Doctoral Residency Sport Medicine Psychologists with 3+ years experience (athletic performance and mental health) are encouraged to apply! Skill & Ability Requirements Strong communicator and public speaker – ability to lead and educate small and large groups with Mental Skills Coaching and Education Empathy and active listening abilities. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Strong ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects/cases at a time. Ability to motivate and inspire athletes. Knowledge of current trends and issues in sports psychology and mental health. Proficient in data analysis and performance tracking tools. Ability to travel between HPC facility and other locations within greater Phoenix community. Periodic travel, of multiple days, may be required to support clients and partners.
