Overview
We are seeking a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) to join our team. The ideal candidate will stabilize individuals within the City of Richmond and surrounding counties and support the individual and/or support system during the periods of 23-Hour Crisis (23CR), Mobile Crisis Response (MCR), Community Stabilization (CS), Mental Health Skill-Building (MHSB), and/or Intensive In-Home Services (IIH).

Job description

  • 23-Hour Crisis (23CR)

- 23‐Hour Crisis Stabilization provides assessment and stabilization interventions to individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis for a period of up to 23 hours in a community‐based clinic setting.

- Indicated for those situations wherein an individual is in an acute crisis and requires a safe environment for observation and assessment prior to determination of whether admission to an inpatient or RCSU setting is necessary.

-This service allows for an opportunity for thorough assessment of crisis and psychosocial needs and supports throughout the full 23 hours of service to determine the best resources available for the individual to prevent unnecessary hospitalization.

Schedule:

  • On call

Work Location: Main Office

  • Mobile Crisis Response (MCR)

-Provided mobile response to individuals dispatched by 988 as it relates to individuals needs within one hour of the call.

-Responsible for providing direct mental health short-term care for non-hospitalized adults and/or adolescents experiencing an acute crisis of a psychiatric nature that may jeopardize their safety and/or the safety of others.

  • Community Stabilization (CS)

- Conduct individual and group sessions to address the needs of clients
- Utilize knowledge of ICD-10 codes to accurately document client's progress towards treatment goals/objectives as outlined with treatment plan.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans to bridge the gap and prevent the possibility of crisis cycling.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations when handling client information
- Collaborate with existing providers and link to necessary providers to address mental health needs.

Requirements:

- Mobile Crisis Training

-QMHP- A License with VA Board of Counseling

or

-QMHP-C License with VA Board of Counseling

At minimum, QMHP-A requirements should be met to provide the service:

"Qualified Mental Health Professional-Adult (QMHP-A)" means a person in the human services field who is trained and experienced in providing psychiatric or mental health services to individuals who have a mental illness; including:

(i) a doctor of medicine or osteopathy licensed in Virginia;

(ii) a doctor of medicine or osteopathy, specializing in psychiatry and licensed in Virginia;

(iii) an individual with a master's degree in psychology from an accredited college or university with at least one year of clinical experience;

(iv) a social worker: an individual with at least a bachelor's degree in human services or related field (social work, psychology, psychiatric rehabilitation, sociology, counseling, vocational rehabilitation, human services counseling or other degree deemed equivalent to those described) from an accredited college and with at least one year of clinical experience providing direct services to individuals with a diagnosis of mental illness;

(v) a person with at least a bachelor's degree from an accredited college in an unrelated field that includes at least 15 semester credits (or equivalent) in a human services field and who has at least three years of clinical experience; (vi) a Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Provider (CPRP) registered with the United States Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association (USPRA); (vii) a registered nurse licensed in Virginia with at least one year of clinical experience; or (viii) any other licensed mental health professional.

Both full and part time contracted positions available.

FAS provides Intensive In-home services to at risk youth and their family in the client’s home.

  • Mental Health Skill-Building (MHSB)

FAS provides Mental Health Skill-Building to mentally ill adults in their home and community.

QMHP's provide direct client care in the home and community.

The minimum qualification are a Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or related field and at least one year clinical experience providing direct services to the mentally ill population you wish to work with. All QMHPs must be certified through the Board of Counseling.

**If you lack the experience, we provide paid training once registered with the board as a trainee.**

Bilingual, QMHP certified and/or previous IIH or MHSB experience a plus.
