Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Social Work Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Emergency Department Social Workers, including promoting positive patient, employee, and physician satisfaction. You will assist the unit Manager to meet productivity. You will work in collaboration with the appropriate clinical educator/resource to assure appropriate unit orientation and ongoing staff competency. You will continue to perform all essential job responsibilities outlined by the emergency department social worker job description.

• You will supervise Social Work operations by developing and participating in Performance Improvement reports annually, or as needed.
• You will supervise Social Work personnel activities such as coordinating staff orientation of new employees, ensuring competency checklists is completed by the end of the initial employment period, and the 30/90 day evaluations are submitted on time.
• You will coordinate inter and intra departmental activities of the units.
• You will coordinate with the emergency department nursing educator to assist in providing training for any

Job Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum of three years’ experience as a supervisor in a related field of clinical social work
• Hospital and/or acute care social work experience – preferred

Education

• Master’s Degree in Social Work from a school of social work accredited by the Counsel of Social Work Education

Licenses and Certifications

• Current Texas licensure as a Licensed Master Social Worker or higher
