The Resort Activities Counselor assists guests and their children with all functions of KidsFest, a fun and creative space just for kids 6 - 12 years of age.

BASIC FUNCTION: The Resort Activities Counselorwill support/conduct activities with the KidsFest program and other resort activities for groups and special events.
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Must have High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) or have significant progress toward obtaining.

  • Must be first aid and CPR certified

  • Must have previous recreation or fitness background.

  • Must work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

  • Must have the ability to effectively interact with guests and associates.

  • Must possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to speak effectively in front of small and large groups of people.

  • Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

  • Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation and drug screening.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Assists with conference group activities.

  • Greets guests warmly and with enthusiasm as they enter the work area.

  • Assists guests with the equipment, including instruction in proper use and return of all rental equipment.

  • Sets up and administers programs/events in support of the KidsFest programs.

  • Interacts with, supervises, and ensures the safety of all guests (children and adults) in attendance of the KidsFest programs.

  • Ensures that work area is setup upon opening and shut down appropriately upon closing the KidsFest building.

  • Possesses knowledge of all retail items for sale.

  • Maintains personal bank and follows night audit and accounting procedures.

  • Maintains KidsFest inventory in order to inform management when required items need to be either ordered or replenished.

  • Assists and participates in activities for groups in a monitoring support role.

  • Performs other duties as reasonably requested by Management.
