Full job description

The Mental Illness Recovery Center (MIRCI) is a progressive Non-Profit that assists homeless individuals, adult and youth, with clinical needs and permanent housing and is seeking a Director of Quality of Assurance.

Under limited supervision of HR Manager, with CEO consultation, develops, implements, and provides oversight and monitoring to all clinical programs of MIRCI in regard to quality assurance practices, training, and credentialing.

EXAMPLES OF WORK:

  • Reviews and monitors service documentation within medical records across all programs of MIRCI.
  • Works with Practice Manger to ensure appropriateness of billing codes and timely submission of notes by clinicians and providers related to billing.
  • Conducts regular and scheduled audits of MIRCI clinical records, and maintains a record of audit findings and clinician corrections.
  • Acts in liaison capacity between DHHS and MIRCI related to the authorization process for clinical services.
  • Monitors and provides oversight for training compliance of clinical staff; conducts training for staff when needed, required or appropriate and coordinates scheduling and attendance for trainings along with HR Manager.
  • Assesses changing needs of the QA process and assists in the development of new mechanisms for assuring service delivery effectiveness.
  • Meets with all treatment teams on a regular basis, providing direction and consultation on clinical issues related to QA.
  • Coordinates ongoing compliance with CARF standards, and oversees accreditation renewal process.

MINKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES NEEDED:

  • Thorough knowledge of methods, principles and practices of clinical counseling.
  • Knowledge of patient management and clinical service provision.
  • Knowledge of the requirements for meeting the standards of the SCDHHS Medicaid program and related MCOs, Medicare and mainstream/marketplace insurers..
  • Knowledge and experience in accreditation process – i.e. CARF or Joint Commission
  • Ability to evaluate and monitor medical records and to provide appropriate interaction and feedback to clinical staff as it relates to QA.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • A Master’s Degree in counseling, social work or psychology, with independent licensure or a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing with a Registered Nurse license.
  • minimum 5 years’ experience in a clinical service setting, and at least 2 years’ experience in monitoring and oversight of clinical quality assurance practices in a psychiatric related setting.
  • Must have a valid SC driver’s license and a good driving record.
